CEDD signed a contract of about HK$929 million on 24 August 2020 with Build King – STEC Joint Venture for carrying out Stage 5B infrastructure works at the former north apron area under Kai Tak Development.
To enhance connectivity between Kai Tai Development and the Choi Hung area, CEDD is constructing a new pedestrian subway SW4. The main tunnelling works is planned to commence in April 2020 and will utilize, for the first time in Hong Kong, the Rectangular Tunnel Boring Machine technology. This innovation has a multitude of merits, including enhancement of works safety, effective management and reduction of construction risks, and raising construction quality. Furthermore, it aligns well with Development Bureau’s Construction 2.0 Initiatives.
CEDD signed a contract of about HK$10.92 billion on 6 November 2019 with Bouygues Travaux Publics for the Trunk Road T2 and Infrastructure Works for Developments at the Former South Apron.
CEDD signed a contract of about HK$1,480 million on 30 May 2019 with Penta-Ocean Construction Co., Ltd. for the Kai Tak development – stage 4 infrastructure at the former runway and south apron.
CEDD on 7 December 2018 signed a contract of about $323.73 million with Chun Wo Construction and Engineering Company Limited for the construction of Government Flying Service Kai Tak Division.
For preservation of Banyan Tree No. T285 in San Po Kong, CEDD successfully transplanted the tree to its designated location on 16 July 2018.
The GreenWay Pilot Project in Kwun Tong Promenade has been launched from July 2018. The trial will run for about six months.
CEDD on 28 September 2016 signed a contract of about $586 million with Peako – Wo Hing Joint Venture for the Kai Tak Development - 5A infrastructure works at former north apron area.
